Shamesa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate from Greenville, NC with over 8 years of social work, mental health, and substance abuse experience. She earned a Master of Social Work with a certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling from East Carolina University.

Shamesa is very passionate about working with people from all walks of life. She has worked in many different areas of social work and mental health including foster care and in-home services at the department of social services, the local hospital emergency department dealing with
medical trauma social worker, private practice, school-based therapy, and substance abuse counseling.

Shamesa is ambitious about creating a safe space that is full of compassion as well as a non-judgmental atmosphere where clients feel comfortable with sharing their story. Everyone has a story, and you must learn to find joy and peace in the story you are actually living. She believes that all experiences – the good, the bad and the ugly, all contribute to how we view ourselves and our story. She always makes sure she meets the client where they are, help the client to help
themselves and work with the client to become their most authentic selves. She enjoys empowering clients to be the best that they can be. She is passionate about helping people heal and develop their connection to themselves and others in a holistic way. She believes that healing
occurs when we address the whole person including physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual health.

Shamesa specializes in working with children beginning at the age of 7, adolescents, teenagers, younger and older adults. Shamesa has worked with a variety of mental health symptoms related to depression, anxiety, life stressors, adjustment disorder, grief/loss, and trauma related events.

Shamesa utilizes a variety of modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, play therapy and solution focused brief therapy. She also uses a variety of other therapeutic approaches to assist her clients with processing, understanding, and coping with the
many challenges that life may throw their way.

When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys crafting, spending time on the farm working in the garden, feeding, and riding the horses, and feeding the chickens and dogs. Shamesa always has an encouraging word for everyone and
would love to encourage and empower you.
