Magen Henley,
LCSWA

Magen was born and raised in eastern North Carolina where she completed her undergraduate degree in social work and then went on to earn a Master’s of Social Work degree, both from East Carolina University. She is currently licensed as LCSWA. She served as a behavioral health case manager at a community health center for two years–this experience solidified her desire to help others.

Her main goal is to create a comfortable, safe, and non-judgmental environment for clients. She relies heavily on the interpersonal process model: so she focuses on the relationship individuals have with others, their environment, their thoughts, feelings, and coping styles. Once you are aware of these things and how they impact your everyday life, Magen believes we can incorporate flexibility to get you in a healthier mindset! Magen often takes cognitive behavioral approaches as well, in which we can bring to light your unhealthy thinking patterns as well as your response to these thoughts, challenge them, and reframe them into something more beneficial. It’s important to remember that therapy approaches are not one size fits all, so Magen adapts her style to better fit the client.

Magen has experience working with adolescents and adults, struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, family conflict, and substance use. Her main goal is to empower you to overcome the stressors you may be facing.
